Sticking around Guelph this summer? Volunteer with CFRU 93.3FM Radio & Media Centre!
- Outreach: Learn how to set up the Outreach table, sell merch using Square, and set up/tear-down our CFRU tent out in Branion Plaza. Everyone will get an opportunity to practice their CFRU spiel.
- Tech: Our Rødecaster Pro II is just so pretty with the bright buttons, slick sliders, and numerous knobs. Attend this training to learn how to set it up and troubleshoot simple issues in preparation for off-site broadcasting.
- Programmers & Music: Plan on hosting a live show? You’ll learn how to find relevant music using our Digital Music Library, the file types our off-site computer can handle, and how to fill in logsheets on the go.
- Interviewing: When we’re out and about, there are community members, musicians, and representatives from amazing organisations whose stories are destined for the air! Learn how to host interviews and come up with questions (either in advance or on the fly) either live-to-air or using a handheld recorder. Expect to practice with your fellow volunteers!
- In-Station Help: Want to help us without being in the thick of it? We need volunteers who stay in the station and monitor the feed while we’re out doing live off-site broadcasts! Volunteers will learn how to connect to the stream, recognize correct levels, and learn what to do if the stream drops and there’s dead air.
- Naloxone: Hosted by the great folks at Sanguen, you will learn how to identify an overdose, administer narcan, and next steps to ensure the safety of everyone in our community. Ideally, all volunteers should attend this training.
